Hello! 👋
We’re really glad you’re here. The aim of the Noticeboard is simple – help residents feel informed, supported and connected. It’s part of the Precinct Community Group’s focus on bringing people together, and helping the community find practical solutions that make living here easier and more enjoyable for everyone. This newsletter is for infrequent but worthwhile updates that you can skim in a few minutes. Think of it as a friendly touchpoint: the important bits, the useful bits, and the occasional “good to know” that saves time, reduces confusion, or helps you feel more at home at The Precinct.

Spring has sprung 🌺
Spring is here, bringing longer days, flowers in bloom and a good reason to spend a little more time outside. It's lovely to have the warmer months ahead of us again!
It's also a good time for a spring clean, if there's a cupboard you've been meaning to sort out or a balcony that could do with a bit of attention. We hope you get a chance to enjoy the change of season, and perhaps a few more walks by the river along the way.
DID YOU KNOW? ❓
Precinct Perks is your way to benefit from being a Precinct resident

We've brought together offers from local businesses through Precinct Perks, with a free digital membership card for eligible residents to keep on their phone.
We're launching with Bliss Pilates, StretchLab Mount Pleasant, N24 Pilates & Wellness Studio, Harus Mart, Fitstop Applecross, Jetts Applecross, Clancy's Canning Bridge, StoneWater, Street Eats Eatery, Jupiter Health Plus, Balance Massage & Wellness, Jupiter Cosmetics and Ceramics International, with more businesses to come.
That gives us a mix of food and drink, convenience, fitness, health, wellbeing and home improvements to get started. Some offers are a chance to try somewhere new, while others can be used as part of your usual routine.
To get started, apply for your card and choose from six designs. Once approved, you'll be able to see the full offers and how to claim them on the Precinct Hub app. Have your active card ready when ordering, booking or asking for a quote, and check the details of each offer before you go.
Your information is never shared with participating businesses, and there's no need to join their mailing lists to access the perks.
Thank you to the businesses taking part and offering something extra to our neighbours. Have a look at theprecinct.co/perks to explore what's available and apply for your free card!
WHAT’S NEW ⭐️
Find what you need with our new AI search

We've introduced a new search function on the Precinct Hub to make it even easier to get the help you need, as quickly as possible.
It uses AI to identify to try and identify what you’re looking for, and will improve over time the more you search. Looking for the Building Manager's number for example? Start typing their name or title, and their contact card appears making it easy to grab their details, or email/call them right from there. You can still open the full contacts page if you'd like to.
You don't need to remember the exact name of info you’re looking for either. Type what you're looking for, even if you're not quite sure how it's spelt, and the search will try and help you find it.
Try the new search on the Precinct Hub, or tap the magnifying glass in the navigation on any page. If something doesn't work as you'd expect, please let us know so we can keep making it more useful.
Tunes to relax with

Dinner on the balcony, a quiet Sunday morning, or a bit of music while you get things done at home. We've put together Precinct Sounds to give you some playlists to chill out with.
There are four seasonal playlists to choose from. The spring selection brings together acoustic sounds, mellow soul andlounge music, with a relaxed feel that works just as well when you're having friends over as when you've got the place to yourself.
You can find them all on the Precinct Hub and listen through Spotify. Put one on next time you're at home: theprecinct.co/sounds.
Harus Mart is finally open!

After a few months of fit-out updates, Jonathan has opened Harus Mart on the ground floor, beside Stonewater. There’s now another handy stop downstairs for the everyday bits you’ve run out of.
That includes Harvey Fresh milk in full cream and HiLo, plus protein drinks and juices. Jonathan’s still working through the prices and is aiming to keep most in line with IGA.
Precinct Perks cardholders can save a little more, with 5% off transactions over $10, excluding lottery and tobacco products. Show your digital card before paying.
If you haven’t met Jonathan yet, pop in and say hello next time you’re downstairs.
ROUNDUP 🚀
The steam room is open again!
Good news for anyone who's been missing the steam room. Building Management confirmed on 14 September that repairs are complete and it's available to use again.
It's been a long wait, so we're pleased to be sharing a reopening this time. Thank you to everyone involved in getting it back up and running.
An update on the pool
It’s been nearly 4 months we‘ve been without a pool, so we're looking forward to having it back – particularly with the warmer weather on the way! Unfortunately, the earlier repairs didn’t resolve the problem, so now a different approach is being taken.
The Council's September update says the handrail will be re-secured under warranty, while another contractor will replace the silicone joints with flexible grout and apply a protective topcoat.
There are a few steps after the repairs too. Building Management advised that the pool’s repairs will first need to be finalised, and then a further 10 days is required to refill, balance and inspect, with City of Melville approval required before it can reopen. We’ve asked the Building Manager if there was any more clarity when we’re all able to enjoy the pool again, but we haven’t received a response.
A hand with the Stage 1 herb garden
A reminder from the Council's quarterly update: Wendy Moodie, the Stage 1 Residential representative, is reviewing improvements to the herb garden and other landscaped areas with the landscaping contractor.
If there are herbs you'd like to see grown, or you've got some gardening experience to share, this is a good opportunity to put your ideas forward. The Council has invited suggestions and offers of help from residents.
You can read the invitation in the September community update. It would be lovely to see more residents involved in a garden we can all enjoy.

COMMUNITY GUIDE 🧭
Please keep cigarette butts out of neighbour’s lots
There have been a few instances recently of cigarette butts ending up in neighbouring lots, usually in the courtyards of L3 apartments. As well as leaving someone else with the mess, this creates a fire risk.
If you smoke, please use a suitable ashtray or container within your own apartment or balcony, and make sure cigarette butts are properly extinguished. Nothing should be flicked or thrown over the balcony edge.
Please also be mindful of smoke drifting into neighbouring apartments, particularly as doors and windows are opened more often in the warmer months.
Building Management has advised that continued incidents may lead to further action under the by-laws. A little consideration helps everyone enjoy their own space.
Parking outside the Stage 1 businesses
If you or your guests park outside the Stage 1 businesses overnight, please make sure vehicles are moved before the businesses open, so the bays are available for their customers.
If a guest has left their car there, please remind them to move it in time. It's a small consideration that helps our local businesses start their day.
A reminder for dog owners

Please give your dog a chance to go to the toilet outside before bringing them into the car park or back into the building. Building Management has received reports of dogs urinating on the B2 pillars and the pillar just outside the car park entrance, leaving odours and stains in areas we all use.
Keep them clear of the walls, columns and parked cars as you pass through. It’s always a good idea to bring a small pocket kit so that if an accident does happen, you can clean it up thoroughly and straight away. Solid waste should be securely bagged and placed in your apartment rubbish or the main bins in the ground-floor waste area.
The Precinct is a pet-friendly building, and taking a little care helps keep it pleasant for our neighbours too.
